American Samoa is a small archipelago that oocupies only 76 square mile of land. Five of the main islands (Tutula, Tau, Ofu, Aunu, Nu utele) are volcanic, with rugged peaks, narrow coastal palins and fringing reefs. Swain’s and Rose Islands are coral atolls.
