The total land of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, (CNMI) is 176.5 square miles. This is an area about equal in size to that of Barbados or the Seychelles. The CNMI 14 island chain extends about 400 nautical miles (460 statute miles0 from the island of Rota in the South to the most northern island of Farallon De Pajaros.
